A Silhouette Soft thread lift (facelift using threads) is an innovative procedure that boosts the effects of hyaluronic acid treatments to tighten the skin. It therefore has a face-lifting effect.
The thread lift threads are made of polylactic acid, which has been used in medicine for many years, for example in threads, screws and nails for bone fractures, etc. Polylactic acid is a resorbable and biocompatible material. Cones of L-lactide acid and glycol copolymer are also attached to the thread to help with tightening.
Clinical studies have been conducted in more than 4,000 patients.
How does a thread lift work?
Once the threads have been inserted under the skin, the polylactic acid stimulates fibroblast activation and collagen production. This effect slowly improves the contours of the face and creates volume.
The pull on the thread also causes a lifting effect.
How the treatment is done:
A local anaesthetic is applied at the planned entry and exit points of the suture. The stitches are inserted under the skin under sterile conditions. Treatable areas include:
- Centre of the face and jawline
- Jawline and neck
- Neck
- Eyes (eye lift)
The effect lasts for approx. 1–2 years.
