How does the BURANE® laser work?
In contrast to the CO2 laser, the Er:YAG laser system ensures cold ablation. The skin is ablated without heat in thin layers and with numerous microscopically small pulses. This enables extremely gentle and precise treatment. There is no thermal damage to the surrounding tissue. Thanks to the punctual treatment, there is significantly less pain and smaller wound areas. This allows the wound to heal faster and more effectively.
How does treatment with the Erbium:YAG laser work?
To prepare for the treatment, the areas of skin to be treated should be thoroughly cleansed. No cosmetic products should be applied and, if possible, the skin should not be tanned so that the laser treatment does not cause pigmentation problems. Applying a local anaesthetic cream or injecting an anaesthetic minimizes pain so that the treatment is as comfortable as possible for our patients. The relevant areas of skin are then treated with the BURANE® laser. As a rule, a single session is sufficient.
Finally, antiseptic creams are applied to the treated areas of skin. These soothe the skin and ensure faster wound healing. The treated areas should not get wet for a few days and should be covered with a plaster. Sunlight should be strictly avoided and the skin should also be protected with SPF 50 sun cream.
